It is hard enough to be a dedicated follower of fashion, even when your budget is unlimited. Fashion and trends change so quickly that it can be difficult to know from one moment to the next what is in and what is already history.
I find that the trick is to pick items which are always popular. This way you are no slave to fashion and yet are always on trend.
With footwear, a pair of Puma trainers or ankle sneakers never go out of fashion. They can always be relied on in any situation to be as fresh as they were when they were first launched. Top this off with a pair of jeans and a carefully chosen white t-shirt and you will be bang on the mark.
For something less casual, linen trousers and a good quality shirt always look the part. Dress them up with a pair of smart boots or a pair of high heels – or dress them down with a pair of sneakers, but whichever way you will be right on trend.
